Prejudices may not be acted out, as our Sun may censor them, but the Moon rules our spontaneous reactions and feelings.
By Sign, the Moon shows how we experience emotions and respond to our environment, and what our instinctual habits are, especially in our homes or when in private.
By House, the Moon shows which areas of our lives we feel most comfortable, or “at home,” or things that come most naturally to us.

They have a need for acting on all of their needs, and dislike wasting time. It’s hard for them to see the long-term. Instant gratification often rules their actions. They tend to have crushes often, and other intense yet short-lived desires. It can be hard for them to discern between what they “want” and what they “need.” To them, what they want is so powerful that it becomes a need.

Their emotional flare ups are generally over as quickly as they start. They rarely sulk or play any drawn out games of manipulation.
Lunar Aries have a lot of inner passion and fire, even with a more low-key Sun or Ascendant sign. They are very independent, but their self-confidence is variable. They project a strong personality, but go through plenty of ups and downs.
Lunar Taurus revel in material comforts. Building a solid and comfortable home and foundation is a deep-seeded need for them, as it provides them with safety and comfort. They love the “good things: in life, and love to have their senses stimulated.
These individuals are rooted in their ways. They don’t react easily to being pushed into anything, but are incredibly persevering when they make a commitment to anything or anyone. Their steadiness can be comforting to those closest to them. However, their conservative streak can be maddening to those with more progressive personalities, as they tend to avoid “messy”, unpredictable, or overly emotional situations. Instead, they focus on creating a reliable and secure life for themselves and their loved ones.
These natives are inctedibly enduring, and can hold onto their friends, family, and romantic partners through serious conflict. Break ups, or giving up on anything, just isn’t in their nature.

These natives are very creative, and while they can sometimes be lazy and bossy, they do have a strong desire to create and entertain. Generally, though, they have a deep need to treat others fairly and justly. This position of the moon sometimes manifests itself as a “hero complex” – these people want to be the ones to help, save, rescue, support, and generally be a “hero” for everyone they know. This can sometimes lead to them pushing themselves too hard on people who don’t necessarily need, or want, to be saved. When rejected, Lunar Leo’s can sometimes lash out pretty hard. Regardless, they typically have good intentions.
Lunar Leos require lots of love and care to function in the world. When they feel offended, they can be rather dramatic in their emotional displays. They sometimes sulk when their pride has been hurt. Of course, none of this happens in public, as these people are also very aware of their public image. When in public, they make a show of being dignified whenever possible. At home, however, is when their emotional displays are more grand. These scenes don’t often last too long.
Lunar Virgo feel most content when they’ve straightened out all the details of everyday life. They love to run errands, pay bills, and balance their checkbooks, as this can give them a strong sense of security. Lunar Virgos are very body and health aware. If this couples with a lack of self-confidence, they can become too aware of the parts that make up that whole. This can lead to a tendency to be overly self-critical. They can be very skeptical, not just with themselves, but others as well. They instinctively poke holes in others’ blind faith, and look for concrete logic behind anything emotional.

These individuals also have a drive for harmony, peace, and sharing. They are sympathetic and concerned for others, enjoy socializing, and love a good debate. Mental rapports with friends make them quite happy. They are charming and attractive to be around, and are often rather flirtatious.
These natives easily detect flaws in their environment and relationships. If anything is slightly unbalanced, it’ll bother them until it’s fixed. While these people are very diplomatic and tactful with acquaintances, they can argue comfortably with their long-standing partners and friends. They rarely let up until they win. They often enjoy debates for the sake of the debate, and sometimes play the role of Devil’s advocate.
Lunar Scorpio seek out emotional intensity. This brings them comfort the same way material things comfort Taurus. They also have a deep need for transformation and rebirth, which manifests itself in different ways. These individuals easily see beyond facades and can get right to the core of a person. They have a strong ability to “see” what is less obvious to the rest of the world, which can be intimidating or wildly attractive, depending on the audience. Doing things halfway, or meaningless relationships, are very unfulfilling to these individuals.
These natives tend to have a strong fear for betrayal. They love commitment, and sometimes need their partner to make to them to prove their loyalty. They sometimes unconsciously “test” their loved ones, to ensure they made the right choice of companionship. Once committed, however, these natives are incredibly loyal and protective.
Even the most shy Lunar Scorpio’s have a strong presence. They radiate strength, and tend to “just know” things, even without experience. These individuals are not easily shocked, as they have a strong ability to size up situations and people quickly and accurately.

These natives tend to have a blind faith in themselves, their ideas, and their friends. They simply believe that everything will work out. Planning isn’t their forte, as they prefer to wing it. Things usually work out for them anyway, though!
Lunar Capricorn’s most basic need is to be useful and productive. They desire clear boundaries and realistic goals. Risk-taking isn’t appealing to these people, as they have a strong desire for safety and security in life. They respect authority and traditions, and are “planners” at heart.
These natives tend to desire structure and control. Organization and efficiency are what make these people happiest in life. They have a strong need to feel useful in the real world. Respectability is also important to these natives, as they crave having a positive reputation.
These individuals usually keep their emotions checked, so they appear quite competent. They remain cool-headed and steady, despite any turbulent emotions under their surface. The phrase “calm, cool, and collected” sum up a Lunar Capricorn. Messy emotions are highly unappealing to these people. They have plenty of mood swings themselves, but prefer to bury, or internalize, them.
Lunar Capricorns do have a tendency towards “darker” emotions, as they can be rather hard on themselves. They have bouts of sorrow, wherein they withdraw from the world in subtle ways. Yes, they’re still present physically, but much quieter and less emotionally present.
Lunar Aquarius individuals are extremely observant. They love to analyze why things are the way they are, especially when it comes to human behavior. They tend to have a rather detached personality, usually from a young age. They usually tend to grow up feeling rather “different” from those around them. Regardless, they have strong egos, or at least, powerful defense mechanisms. They take pride in being the most unique person they can be.
These individuals tend to deny the more irrational emotions they may experience – such as jealously, possessiveness, and fear – in an effort to be “above” that which they consider “petty.” This can lead them to being (or seeming) emotionally blocked, distant, and detached. They find messy emotions highly unappealing.
These natives take pride in being cool-headed, detached, and “above” what they consider the more basic and unnecessary emotions. This can lead them to alienate others, despite their understanding and humanitarian natures. While they easily understand others, they sometimes struggle to understand themselves, mostly because they identify too strongly with what they aspire to be.
Lunar Aquarius tend to be humanitarian, though their kindness and concern for others is generally more of a broad philosophy of life. These natives often seem to lack compassion to those closest to them, but they simply expect others to be as independent and logical as they are.
While these people aren’t the “flighty” type, they can be rather unreliable when it comes to the little things in life. When it comes between choosing Restaurant A and Restaurant B, they are indecisive, solely because it truly doesn’t make a difference to them where they go to eat. In the long run, though, these natives are consistent, steady, and decisive. So long as they have their own space and freedom to be themselves, they can be extremely loyal and trustworthy.
While Lunar Aquarius may not directly show it, and probably wouldn’t admit it, they have a lot of pride. When they feel attacked (especially in regards to their character) they can become extremely inflexible and cold. However, they rarely display their sensitivity to criticism, as they usually mask it with indifference.
