Astrology, Natal Charts specifically, can shed wonderful amounts of insights on an individual. How you handle emotions, what you value in relationships, what you’re passionate about, and so much more.

There is also a way to glimpse your past lives, by looking at the North and South Nodes.

The Nodes of the Moon in Astrology:

The theory behind the Nodes of the Moon (the North Node and South Node) suggests that we all come into this world with some underdeveloped and overdeveloped aspects of our character. The Nodes of the Moon point us to these specific qualities: the South Node suggests our overdeveloped character traits that are easy for us to fall back on, but that may undermine our lives if we hold on to these traits for security; while the North Node suggests the qualities that we need to develop in order to find inner balance.

The North Node and South Node points are directly opposite each other. They are not planetary bodies; rather, they are points that take into account the relationship between the Sun, Moon, and Earth at the time of our birth.

With this in mind, it can be inferred that the South Node points at overdeveloped traits that were utilized in your previous life. The South Node indicates what traits were used, stressed, and implanted so deeply in your soul in your previous life, that they come to play in your present one as almost second-nature.

While this isn’t fully negative, it isn’t exactly a good thing either. While these behaviors or traits may helped you in your past life, they may not be so helpful in the present one.

While looking at the South Node shows you where you’ve been, the North Node can show you what tools you can use to achieve your dreams. It’s the beacon of light guiding you towards you future, where you can leave your past where it belongs - in the past.

While the South Node is second-nature, utilizing your North Node takes effort, and may require you to step out of your comfort zone.

When it comes to moving forward in your present life, looking at both the South Node and the North Node can show you what to release, and what to embrace.
